Why Has My Nipple Got Swollen Like Lump With Redness And Itching ?
I am 30 year old with 2 child one 3 and half yrs old another 9 months old. Second one is breast feeding . For few days back my nipple was paining. Its so painfull when I feed my baby. Day before yesterday I saw swelling like lump in my breast. Yestarday the swelling was greater in size with redness and itching in that area. Today the swelling is even more greater in size and same redness and itching persist. Can you tell what is happening to me? Is it tumour or what? Need your advice. Is it ok to feed my baby in this situation?

No actually in breast feeding mothers it is an infection which leads to a breast abscess....a collection of pus...the infection travels from the babys mouth thru the cracked nipple and forms an infection..but it needs treatment..pls consult a surgeon immediately.......meanwhile start taking Tb Augmentin/Tb Clavum 625 mg twice daily and any pain killers which suit u...but u need to c a doctor immediately he has to release the pus if there is any.......

read your piob, this nothing but infection due to accumulation of milk. this is most coomon prob among breast feeding mother. you should start antibiotic as per advise of your doc n express your milk out. consult with your doc. if infection spread more become abscess, I and D should.
do not bother it is treatable . you feel better 48 hrs after start treatment.
