Hi,

Implanon is a hormone progesterone containing device. It is known to cause menstrual irregularities (scanty or profuse, irregular delayed or absent). The side effect differs in every individual but the contraception is achieved. So don't worry. In case of doubt, get consultation by the inserter.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
