Infectious Diseases Specialist, Dr. Nicita MD's Response
Hi, Dont you worry about the TPHA test. It is normal to have a TPHA positive after that syphilis is cured (remains lifelong). To check if you have responded to the treatment, doctor should use a test named VDRL or RPR. When a patient is cured VDRL or RPR should descend in 6 month or more time.
