What Treatment Is Suggested For Bulky Uterus And Coarseness Of The Cervical Echotexture?
I am a 19 year old female recently diagnosed with a bulky uterus and coarseness of the cervical echotexture. I menstruate regularly however the flow is heavy and I have terrible cramps and I experience pelvic pain daily. Am I suffering from something critical?
Hello and welcome to HCM, The ultrasonic findings correlate well with your symptoms. The heavy menstrual flow, cramps and pelvic pain are related to the bulky uterus. Bulky uterus can be due to endometrial hyperplasia, adenomyosis, or fibroid in the uterus. All the above mentioned conditions can cause increased menstrual flow, cramps and pain. You need to consult your gynecologist for relevant investigations to find the cause of bulky uterus. Endometrial curettage and/or endometrial biopsy may be required. The coarse texture of the cervix does not signify any disease process in the cervix. This is actually a normal finding.
