What Is The Treatment For Dizzy Spells And Pressure Headache Inspite Of Using Vertigo Medicines?

Hi, I have had dizzy spells and an on and off kind of pressure headache that sometimes comes in around my eyes. I was on serc for vertigo but the tablets don't seem to relieve it. I had blood tests done also and they came back fine. I had a scan on my head about 5 or 6 years ago which was fine. It has been going on for about 3 weeks now. Do you think I need another scan

Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would recommend performing a brain MRI , which can give a lot more information compared to the brain CT scan and without the risks of radiation.

I would also recommend starting sertraline or paroxetine for your symptoms. The headaches seem to be caused by tension type headache and these drugs can help reduce both headache and vertigo.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.
Hope to have been helpful! Wishing all the best,
Dr. Aida
