General & Family Physician, Dr. Sulochana's Response
Hello, Thank you for writing to HCM.
Tan is very common in feet as we don't protect it from Sun, like we protect our face.
I would advice you to apply sunscreen lotion half an hour before going out in Sun. Sunscreen lotion should be applied every 4 hours. SPF more than 30 is recommended. If you are working under Sun for a long time and if you are not able to apply sunscreen frequently then I would advice you to wear socks and shoe and cover your feet.
At night Apply Kojic acid 2% cream/gel over the affected area this will even your skin complexion.
Hope this will help you. Regards, Dr.Nagakeerthana.S
