What Is The Cause Of Bleeding?

MY WIFE HAD IVF AND AFTER 12 DAYS POST EMBRYO TRANSFER THE HCG LEVEL WAS 900 MLU/ml and two days later rose to 1870mlu/ml. 4 days later she

noted some blood stains on her pants. The following day she had bed rest. On the day she had the bed rest during the night she bled heavily. When reported this to the doctor we were advised to go for tranvaginal sonar that revealed the following:
Single gesttion sac properly located at the fundal aspect of the endometrium. Showed small pocket of fluid and what looked like fetal pole. There was pronounced decidual reaction and myometrium demonstrates normal echotexture. The doctor has since advised that she continues taking hormone support medication until she goes for another sonar. At over 3 weeks the HcG level was at 4000mlu/ml and two days later to 4730mlu/ml. Should we say the pregnancy is still there?

Hello sir and welcome.

Yes, the pregnancy is still viable and care should be continued. I would recommend to take those hormonal pills and continue strict bed rest. Embryo transfer is not s cheap procedure, and as it has helped with conception we will have to try extra hard to support pregnancy.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
