What Is The Best Medication For Fever And Severe Headache During Pregnancy?
Hi, My wife is in 9th month of her pregnancy. She s suffering from severe fever and headache from 5-6 days. Her fever is under control now. But she s still complaining for bad headache which is intolerable for her. Have already consulted her Doctor but she s saying it might be cause of cold or nastral problem. And prescribed Paracetamol which is already taken several doses but nothing turning in good results for her. Kindly suggest if any anti-inflammatory tab can work for her i.e. Dynapar, Disprin, Ibuprofen etc. and will it be safe for her and baby.
Hi, Thank for the query. Paracetamol is the better drug in pregnancy as it belongs to category B drugs according to FDA. Whereas ibuprofen, aspirin etc belongs to category C or D drugs. Means there is possibility of some fetal risk. So, better to go for paracetamol combinations. Headache in pregnancy can occur due to different causes like hormonal changes, alterations in blood pressure and blood sugar levels etc. Managing the diet and hydration can decrease the problem to some extent. Adequate rest is necessary and at the same time enough physical activity should be there. For more details: http://srsree.blogspot.in/2013/11/headache-during-pregnancy-part-2.html
