Hi, I am a 43yr old female. I have had 2brain surgeries in the past 3years. The first to remove a meningioma behind my optic nerve. Tumor has not returned, but have some side effects from the surgery. The second surgery was this past June to treat trigeminal neuralgia. Surgeon found other issues in brain once inside. At the trigeminal nerves exit it was constricted by a y shaped vein scarred down to the nerve. It was dissected and removed. There was also a arterial loop scarred to a portion on the nerve. These adhesions had to be sharply incised and were able to move the blood vessel off the nerve. A sponge was placed over the nerve. My problem is that I continue to have massive face pain almost continuously and have been on different anti seizure drugs to control mini seizures. I am not doing well with side effects from medication. Is there anything else that can be done or am I going to be struggling with pain and drugs for the rest of my life?
