What Does Thick Uterine Wall After Delivery Indicate?
My wife just had her uterine wall measured maybe a month ago and it was 17cm she just had a baby 6 months ago. She has had but not lately very very light bleeding nothing bad. Is this normal? How long does it take your uterine wall thickness to go down after birth?

I am Dr Nilajkumar a consultant gynecologist and I will be helping you in your queries.
The 17 cm uterus is very big. Uterus comes back to its normal size by 6 weeks after delivery. So this is big. You can feel a 17 cm big uterus by hand in the lower abdomen. So see if it is palpable. Please see if any other pathology has been mentioned like fibroids or adenomyosis as they caused an enlarged uterus. It would help immensely if you are able to upload the complete report so that I may be able to give a better opinion.
If nothing else has been mentioned, please get a repeat scan or ask the reporting person if this is a typo.
