What Does These Pap Test Of Endometrium Indicate?
My pap test showed Atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance, ASC-US. Cellular changes consistant with parakeratosis. Anucleated squamous cell present and endometrial cell present. I am 48 years old and premenopausal. My doctor has recomended a endometrial biopsy. What does all this mean?

Pap smear is done usually to rule out any possibility of malignant changes in the cervix.
Atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance, ASC-US means there is some atypia in cells but the exact significance cannot be reported.
This is borderline between normal and abnormal. Parakeratosis and anucleated squamous cells indicate features of keratinizing squamous epithelium. Whereas endometrial cell may be representing some shed endometrial tissue.
According to your age and report the steps recommended are, with your doctor's advice:
-You can go for the HPV test.
Colposcopy guided cervical biopsy
-Endometrial biopsy
With this workup the exact condition can be identified and treatment taken accordingly.
