What Does The Report Say?

hi i have been smoking for about 5 to 6 years and drink alcoholic beers once every two weeks and was feeling pain in right side chest and shoulder so I recently had a blood test where everything was in normal range except for these two :
MCV = 101.6
MCH = 35.2
And though i'm not related to the medical field so I am not able to get a conclusion on my blood test report
but in the end its written " Anisocytosis Macrocytic cause? "
Can you tell me what would this all mean

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The blood report suggests presence of macrocytic red blood cells (RBCs).
Macrocytic RBCs are RBCs greater in size as compared to normocytic RBCs.
Alcohol is one of the cause of macrocytic RBCs.
Now it is important to know whether macrocytosis is due to megaloblastic anemia or not.
Megaloblastic anemia is a anemia caused by deficiency of vitamin B12 and folic acid.
You need to get blood levels of vitamin B12 and serum levels of folic acid to assess its level.
In case there is vitamin B12 and folic acid deficiency, supplements need to be taken.
Pain on right side of chest and shoulder could be muscular or pleural in origin.

You need to consult your physician for the pain and for presrciption of investigations required.

Thanks and take care
