Question: I am aged 70 years. I had a blood test done just about 3 days back. The Hemoglobin count is 6.7
And under the test report there is an alert 'Moderate anisocytosis mild poikilocytosis. Predominantly microcytic hypochromic cells with ovalocytes & elliptocytes are seen. Advised:Serum iron studies."

Hello dear. I have seen the reports. So you are having iron deficiency anemia. The cause of which needs to be identified. At your age most likely cause is blood loss by gasyrointestinal tract. Hence an upper gastroscopy and a colonoscopy is required to look for the cause. Treatment can be planned there after.
