Indications: Menorrhagia
ORIGINAL REPORT - 29-Nov-2010 14:57:00 GONDA
Ultrasound of the Pelvis:
TECHNIQUE: Transabdominal and endovaginal
UTERUS, MYOMETRIUM: Multiple masses within the uterus consistent with
fibroids. The largest is located in the upper left fundus measuring
3.5 cm x 2.6 cm x 3.9 cm.
UTERUS, ENDOMETRIUM: The endometrium is deviated by the large
fibroids. Thickness 2 mm
RIGHT OVARY: 1.5 cm x 2.9 cm x 2 cm. Tiny follicle.
LEFT OVARY: 2.5 cm x 3.1 cm by 3.2 CM.Two small follicles with the
largest measuring 1.5 cm.
FREE FLUID: None

1.Your report suggest there are multiple mass lesions with in the uterine myometrium - Fibroids largest upper fun-dal region measuring approximately 35mm. these fibroids causing the mass effect on the endometrium.
2.Bilatera ovaries are with in normal limits. With follicle within - its normal condition.
3.No free fluid in pouch of Douglas - also a normal findings.
4.Firstly mentioned that test was performed endo-vaginal route.
5.The impression ( conclusion report ) is multiple uterine fibroids.
6.Treatment in this case initially tried with hormonal treatment, later and most commonly its operated - Hysterectomy ( depending on the patient age group)
7.Symptoms in this are mainly excessive bleed -menorrhagia.
