What Does It Mean To Have Red Dots On Hand And Numbness While Pregnant?

I am 36 weeks pregnant and in the last week my hands are falling asleep when I lay down and I it wakes me up. It is both hands weather I am sleeping on that side or not. This morning I had red dots in the palms of my hands and they have been slightly numb all day.

This is not terribly uncommon to experience arm and hand numbness during pregnancy. Certainly this is related to retention of fluid. The concerns are if you are having swelling in the hands AND your blood pressure is elevated. These symptoms should be discussed with your doctor because they may be a sign of preeclampsia.
