Radiologist 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

The X ray report mentions the following.
1. Lungs are clear.
2. Heart and aorta (main artery which carries blood to rest of the body) are normal.
3. The distance between the ends of collar bone (clavicle) and shoulder blade (acromion) is slightly widened.
4. Rotation towards right noted is a positioning error.

From the above, the widening or acromion and clavicle distance is almost always due to injury or wrong positioning. It is not due to fever. Since the above X ray was taken from front to back (AP) the doctor has advised another X ray from back to front (PA) and this will show the lungs and heart better. However, in most occasions, a second X ray is not required.

As an X ray expert, I would say that since lungs are clear, a second X ray is not required. There is no disease that has been found by doing X ray. You can continue with blood tests and medications as prescribed by your doctor. Please do not worry.
