Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your question, I would explain that it is important performing some tests to investigate for the possible causes underlying your complaints:

-a chest X ray study
-a resting ECG and a cardiac ultrasound
-cardiac enzymes
-complete blood count, PCR, ESR for inflammation.

A cardiac stress echo would help investigate for coronary artery disease.

A fibrogastroscopy may be needed to investigate for possible gastritis or gastro-esophageal reflux, especially if your symptoms are relived by PPI (omeprazole, esomeprazole, etc.).

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Wishing all the best,

Dr. Iliri
