What Could Early, Very Heavy Periods With Painful Cramps After C-section Mean?

I am 27 and I had a c-section august 31, 2011. My periods have become normal now, but the flow is heavy( can soak through a pad within an hour or 2. The blood is like a bright red or orange color. I have been having painful cramps and after my periods I still continue(maybe a few days or a week later) to have bright red orange blood or a light pink mucous discharge. I am unsure what this is, but lastnight I went to use the bathroom and wiped myself and there was a lot of bright red orange blood on the toilet paper and a little on the toilet seat, I had my period 2 week sago. What is this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Heavy bleeding could be due to hormonal variations, my suggestion is to get Thyroid function test done and FSH and LH assay, you might require D and C procedure to check endometrium. Consult your gynecologist doctor for further evaluation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
