What Could Be The Reason For Recurring Cough For 2 Weeks?

I have had a terrible cough for about two weeks. Sounds deep in the chest, I went to a regular DR. had a chest x-ray (no problem), have tried everything and no improvement of merit. Feel strongly that is Ragweed related. Never had allergies before. Any hope?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi, if chest xray is normal and there are no symptoms of any acute infection, then chances of an allergic cough are there. Use mucolytics with bronchodilators along with steam inhalation. Also add proton pump inhibitors to it. Things should be fine in 1-2 weeks. if not, please consult a chest specialist. Regards
