What Could Be The Reason For Having Small And Hard Lump Above My Adam's Apple?

I have a small, hard, pea/M&M-sized lump above and to my right of my Adam's apple. Slightly painful to the touch, but no problem with swallowing, etc. If I stick my tongue out, it seems to "disappear" into my neck. Otherwise, it's immobile. It appeared pretty suddenly tonight. 27 yo male. Occasional smoker.

Hi. Your findings are very much similar to the problem called thyroglossal Cyst. It is good that you noticed and always better to consult a Surgeon and get it removed before it becomes infected.
