What Could Be The Reason For Having Burning In My Vaginal Area After Performing An Intercourse?

I have just recently been diagnosed with PCOS. I have a healthy five year old. For the past six weeks, I have been on Junel Fe birth control pills. After me and my husband have intercourse, I start burning in my vaginal area. Can you tell me why that is?

Hi,

The reasons of burning in your vaginal area after having intercourse could be as following:
- being dry during intercourse (no vaginal secretion while penetration occurred)
- hard sex
- possible hormonal changes while being on Junel Fe control pills
- any vaginal thrush due to use of medications for PCOS

I'd suggest to:
- do a vaginal swab testing to exclude thrush; if confirmed, should take proper vaginal treatment.
- talk to your husband about reaching arousal together in order to get wet when penetration occurs
- avoid hard sex for a while

If everything is ok, consult with your OG specialist to use vaginal probiotics or hormones.

Hope it helped!
