Hi,

This is surely indicative of an active bacterial infection. I would advise you to consult a doctor for clinical evaluation, examination and investigations. You will be started on an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory with pain killer property like Ibuprofen; decongestant if required. Use Povidone Iodine gargles. Take plenty of oral fluids if tolerable otherwise you have to get admitted for intravenous antibiotic and IV fluids.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
