What Causes The Toes On My Foot To Become Red, Itchy And Swollen?

Suddenly the toes on my left foot and the top of my foot across the arch became very red, itchy and swollen. I can see all the little red veins. I was just getting into bed. I had a five hour flight yesterday. I am a 72 year old woman, a two year survivor after a whipple for pancreatic cancer and a diabetic as a result of the surgery.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

We have to rule out possible causes like DVT.
As of now you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.
You have to do a vascular Doppler also.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
