What Causes Stomach Bloating In A Child?
Hi, My 3 year old son has always had a bloated tummy. He has frequent gas. He was very colicky as a baby. I suspect that he has had periodic tummy pain in the past 18 months, and I know that he did during the first 18 months. He has always been top decile in weight (he weighs 40 lbs), and he is probably top quartile in height. My grandfather had celiac disease, but my parents do not, nor do I. He has not been tested for celiac disease or any food allergies. Our family doctor said that most toddlers with celiac disease do not thrive, therefore, he suggested the odds were low. My son has never had significant constipation problems but has had periodic diarrhea-like stools. What course of action do you recommend to diagnose what, if anything, is wrong?

hi,sorry to hear about your son.there are certain disease presenting with celiac like symptoms.since you have a family history,better first do serology test to rule out celiac disease.
avoid wheat and related food items from his diet.give rice and oats and fruits and veggies.
