What Causes Sore And Red Areola?

I am 31 yrs old and I believe I have a swollen milk gland or something more serious I am not pregnant however I did breast feed my son who is now almost 12 its red around my areola and super huge knot on the inside that extremely sore what could this be????

I read your question completely and have understood it well enough..

I strongly feel that you are suffering from Breast Abscess or Evolving Abscess.

This needs Oral or IV antibiotics and if pus is formed, then probably surgical drainage..
