What Causes Radiating Pain From Hip To Leg With Painful Urination?
Yes please, Im having pain left hip radiating down my leg to foot, some problems with urinary urgency and urinary incontinence, just started about 3 weeks ago, I take ambien which may be cause but does not really explain back pain. Also sharp pains are worse when I have to urinate. Sometimes pain is bilateral. Ive had chronic back pain for years but this is new. Lots of pain in knees and idiopathic swelling of feet. Every urinalysis I have shows a trace of blood but never has been a cause of alarm for doc. Any suggestions on what may be going on. I do drink extreme amounts of coffee at least a pot a day. A doctor had my mother start giving it to me when I was 3 to calm me down so a little bit of a hard habit to break.

After going through your history, I can think of two things.
1. If you are around 50 years, it could be prostate problem (benign prostatic hyperplasia)
2. ureteric stone.
Urinary urgency and urinary incontinence points towards a prostatic problem, while radiating pain is more in relation to renal ureteric stone or calculi.
You need to get a prostate examination and an abdominal ultrasound to identify the cause.
Pain in knees could be due to osteoarthritis and swelling in feet could be due to pitting edema in hypertension.
