Hi,

The most common causes of such swelling are as follows:
- Sinusitis of maxilla, ethmoid or frontal
- Local skin cyst with infection
- Daryocystitis
- Any eye conditions

This is not related to pituitary or hysterectomy or hormones. I would advise you the following in such a situation:
- CT scan or MRI of the affected area
- Tests of blood for CBC to see for elevated white cell counts, to rule out diabetes, hormones to know the present levels
- Opinion of an ENT, EYE specialists
Further management as per the cause found should help you the most.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
