What Causes Nausea Dizziness With Ear Problems?

Hi, My dad had a sudden onset of dizziness followed by severe nausea, loss of skin color, and sweating. He fell asleep, and when he got up a few hours later, it occurred again. I had thought at first it was the stomach flu until I learned of the dizziness. He is obese, has uncontrolled Type II diabetes, and has always had inner ear problems. His symptoms have been off and on since 12:00 pm EST. Is this the stomach flu, vertigo, or does he need serious ER care?

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
in view of his age and background medical problems , further investigations are advised . he has been having inner ear problems for sometime ,so it may not be the cause of his present history . I would advise a cardiac evaluation with holter monitoring and MRI vertebral Doppler . An ER visit would be advisable.
