What Causes Liquid Discharge In Eyes While Blowing Nose?
I had cataract surgery almost a year ago. I find that when I blow my nose, sometimes liquid comes out of the inner corner of my eye. It never did before the surgery. The doctor who did the surgery says it's nothing to worry about. Did the surgeon mess up?
I am Dr. Dadapeer K , an ophthalmologist and I will be answering your question.
I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that you are having watery discharge from the eye on blowing the nose.
The answer for your question is as follows.
1. Cataract surgery is not related yo this problem. 2. This indicates obstruction yo the flow of tears which normally flow from eyes to nose via nasolacrimal duct. 3. Hence I advice you to consult your ophthalmologist for examination and treatment accordingly.
Hope this is helpful to you. Do write back to me for further questions.
Thank you
