What Causes High Cholesterol Levels Even After Following Healthy Diet?

Hi Doctor,

I am 38 years. Current Cholesterol 191, hdl 45, ldl 135, tg 79. following a healthy diet and regular excercise of 30min/day. 3 months back levels were Cholesterol 132, hdl 51, ldl 62, tg 78. Please explain the reason!! Should I go to some other Path Lab to verify the readings? Please advice>

Thanks for your query.
Normally if you are following a healthy life style including regular walk, optimal weight and low fat/ sugars diet, the cholesterol should not rise so much. Either the lab readings are not reliable and need a confirmation from a standard lab or there may be other causes. These include development of diabetes, low thyroid hormone level or kidney disease. However before looking into other causes do reconfirm from a standard laboratory.
