What Causes Distended Abdomen After Hysterectomy??

I am six months post surgery - compelte hysterectomy/ovaries - non cancerous tumors removed; in recent weeks my lower abdomen has become so distended I had to purchase new trousers; had an x ray a few days ago (no resutls yet) & am waiiting for an ultra sound, very worried as it is so large now it is painful at times, I even hold it when standing or sitting...?

Hello,

Abdominal distention can occur in conditions where the colon motility s affected or there is intestinal obstruction. X-ray abdomen is the initial screening evaluation. So follow up with your primary provider with your X-ray and ultrasound results.
