What Causes Difficulty Conceiving When Suffering From Hypothyroidism?

Hi, I am trying to conceive for past couple of months. I was diagnosed with subclinical hypothyroidism two years back and am taking medicated (50mg Thyronorm tablet) and my TSH is just under 5. Is this sufficient to conceive. I find online that many recommend TSH between 1-2 to sustain a pregnancy. Also, a few months ago I had a chemical pregnancy and found a cervical polyp which was removed. I have regular periods and no PCOS etc

Hi, I think you can conceive with a TSH of less than 5. When you get pregnant, then you might need to increase the dose to keep it below 2.5, because in pregnancy, cut off becomes low for thyroid. But it will not affect your chance to get pregnant. Hope I have answered your question. if you have any other query I will be happy to help.
