What Causes Cramping, Diarrhea, Fatigue After Taking Laxative For Rheumatoid Arthritis?

After having my son an getting back on my rheumatoid medications I've had trouble going to the bathroom it's not a couple times a day which I think is normal more like a couple times a week. Last night I took a laxative and I woke up at 230am with cramping finally at 530 I went to the bathroom it was diarrhea now all day I've felt fatigued and unsettled is this normal? Why am I so exhausted?

Hi,

Avoid laxatives. Go for natural means to relieve constipation like drink plenty of warm water first thing in the morning on a empty stomach. Add fruits like banana and apple as well as green leafy vegetables. Avoid processed foods like pasta and white bread.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Deepti Shivakumar
