What Causes Chronic Joint Pains With Head Pains?

I am a male 47 yrs. I have a chronic pain on left side of of head for 5 to 6 years. It is smoetimes near the ear some tome on top of the temple. When I press the area or pulls the hair at the pain site, it feels good but worsens sometimes afthe this. I have also pain at all joints, muscle and back (particularly near the neck muscle and shoulder muscle). My nostrils chock if I am exposed to cold air or even when I sleep below a fan. I have also both near and farsight (near +1.5 for both eyes and far +0.5 for right eye). When ever I consult a doctor they often prescribe for X-ray, blood test, which always comes negative. My blood pressure is normal and I have no Blood sugar. I do not have sound sleep and hence the doctors some times prescribes some sleeping tablets. Please help me in this regards.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

The headache that you describe is suggestive of tension type headache, which is a benign type of headache, related to psychological stress. Regarding the muscle and joint pain, I would recommend performing some tests (if you have not performed them yet):
- Complete blood count, PCR, ESR for inflammation
- RF plasma levels
- Fibrinogen plasma levels
- Vitamin D and vitamin B12 plasma levels
- Magnesium and calcium plasma levels

You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
