What Causes Burning Cramps In Ovary?

I had a very short period. It lasted 3 days. It was very light and there was significantly more Cervical mucus. Periods are irregular due to implanon implant. Over a week later, I started having very intense, burning cramps in my left side around my left ovary. What should I do? Could this be a pregnancy?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Spotting and pain are concerning for possible ectopic pregnancy, where the fertilized ovum implants outside uterus usually the fallopian tube.

Blood HCG testing and pelvic Ultrasound are required at this point. Please follow up with the emergency room as soon as possible.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal, General & Family Physician
