What Causes Blood With Cough And Little Chest Pain?

My father 68 years of age facing coughing problem for last 3 months.For last one month there blood coming with cough.He is experiencing bit chest pain but no shoulder pain.There is no shortenining of breath till date.X- ray was done and it was diagonosed with a patch.What may be the possible ill ness

I can understand your concern.
He is having old age (68 years),chronic cough and hemoptysis (blood in sputum).
So following are the possible causes for patch on chest x ray.
1. Pneumonia
2. Tuberculosis
3. Lung cancer.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system, CT thorax and sputum examination for pneumonia and tuberculosis.
Don't wait at home. First diagnose him and start appropriate treatment.
