Dear Doctor, My Father got operated last Friday for Cataract and Wednesday he started complaining that he could not see from the eye. He immediately contacted the Doctor. The Doctor told us that he has got some infection and told us to contact the next day. Yesterday we showed the doctor again and he has told that this infection will take about 2-3 weeks. He hasn t told us what is the reason for infection, or what is the exact cause of the infection. He is just telling us that infection can be caused by a number of incidents. My father is also diabetic. Can anybody kindly suggest or comment on the same. This was his second Cataract operation. The first was successful with the same Doctor. Would appreciate your feedback as we all are very much worried.. Thanks and Warm Regards, Sameer.
Hello It seems from the history that your father is having poor vision following cataract surgery. This can be caused various causes like corneal edema, inflammation induced by surgery, infections following cataract surgery like endophthalmitis.... If it is infection it requires aggressive management to prevent blindness. Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.
Thank you
