What Causes A Scratchy And Swollen Throat?

Hello, well two weeks ago I had a throat infection And was treated with amoxicillin. Culture was negative For strep but it sure felt like strep. Anyway, I lost my Voice with it. Since then, I cough up clear mucus Several times a day. Today I started losing my Voice again and my throat feels scratchy and A little swollen. I'm wondering if it could be my vocal chords? I seem to get raspy whenever I strain to talk (when Someone is in another room or there's backgroundNoise ) any idea?
