Is There Any Way To Prevent From Strep Throat?

Hello! My boyfriend was diagnosed with Strep throat this morning and we were together last night. I am worried now that I might get it because I have had strep more than once in the last couple of years. I have no symptoms yet, but would rather catch it before it happens. Should I go into my clinic today to get a swab test done?

Hello,

Strep throat is contagious. So, you might have the infection. Anyway, I recommend to go at the clinic in case that you will have any symptoms such as fever is throat pain.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
