What Causes WBC In Urine After Antibiotic Treatment?

yes, I always have leukocytes in my urine and am prone to uti s. I have test strips to test nitrate and white blood cells in the urine. I never have nitrate but always show positive for white blood cells even after an antibiotic treatment. Is this normal?

Hello,

I think you are suffering from chronic UTI. You need to run urine culture and sensitivity testing to determine the causative bacteria, and the most susceptible antibiotic to use.

Plus need to check blood sugar levels as sometimes diabetes is often associated with chronic UTI.

Plus, keep good genital hygiene. Discuss this further with your caring doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
