What Can Be Done To Get Rid Of Dry Blood In Nostrils?

I have had for the last 2 months or so, dry hard blood in my nostrils, especially in the morning. They are large enough that it makes it difficult to breathe through my nose. However, once I get up and start moving around for the day, they mostly go away. Is there anything I can do to get rid of this? Thanks

Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding dry blood in the nostril and you want to get rid of from it.

As you said about the condition of the crust in nose it appears that most likely you are having vestibulitis of nose may be associated with sinusitis. To manage it you are advice for these investigations-

1- C.T.Scan of paranasal sinuses.

2- Culture and sensitivity of nasal discharge.

3- Blood- CBC, ESR, blood sugar (F & PP).

Beside this a thorough examination of nose and paranasal sinuses is necessary to find out the local pathology and after that good clinical co-relation with inferences of above investigations will disclose the diagnosis that may be accordingly manage.

Till you are waiting for ENT doctor you may take-

1- Put decongestant drop in nostril.

2- Steam inhalation.

3- Broad spectrum antibiotic.

I hope your query is answered and above will help you in treatment.

Regards.
