What Are The Symptoms Of Vasomotor Rhinitis?

I have been diagnosed by en ENT Dr. with vasomotor rhinitis. I ve had an MRI of the brain and CAT scan of the sinuses. All negative. I ve had allergy testing and am allergic to dust, dust mites and two types of pollen. My headaches, pressure around the sinuses and a wistle when I blow my nose from the right nostril has gone away. However I still feel like there is something in my right eye right in the corner and when I touch the top right part of my scalp (one little spot) provokes a sharp, nerve like pain kind of behind my right eye. The ENT Dr. prescribed for me veramyst and patanase and the eye doctor prescribed for me ietorolac tromethamine and tobramycin-dexameth. I did have a vitreous detachment with three tears in the retina in this eye last year. I was checked by the retina specialist who did the laser and everything is normal. The only thing that really bothers me is the feeling of something in my right eye. It s driving me crazy. What do you suggest?

Addiction Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Nothing is found on MRI with vasomotor and the drainage is like a faucet--clear and constant. Then, treatments for this take at least a week to know if they are going to work. Then, if they don't there are a wide variety of alternatives especially local steroid drops.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Matt Wachsman, Addiction Medicine Specialist
