Postinor 2 is a high dose levonorgestrol pills to be used only for emergency contraception and not instead of a regular contraception like condom or birth control pills.Their failure rates to protect from pregnancy are very high 20_40%.
Due to the increasing severity of side effects with frequent use, Postinor is only recommended for women who have intercourse four or fewer times per month.If used frequently they can disrupt the normal hormonal cycle of females giving rise to many complications like irregular bleeding, pain, exacerbation of premenstrual syndrome, ectopic pregnancy etc.
Also these pills do not protect against sexually transmitted infections.
So kindly use it only as per directions i.e in case of failure of regular method of contraception.
