Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

It may be prurigo nodularis.

Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment.

The lesions may be related to mental status. It may be precipitated or exacerbated by anxiety, depression or other mental upsets.

Internal diseases, or external irritants or allergens may also promote the disease.

I recommend you to take a long course of antihistaminics and anxiolytics. For short period, oral steroids in tapering dose may be taken. Apply mild steroid cream or tacrolimus oint. on the lesions. Avoid soap bath. Dettol liq.may be used for bath.

Avoid the food stuffs which cause itching like cows milk, soya, curd, fermented food,chicken,fish,prawns,eggs..etc

Have patience and be positive.

Hope this helps.
