What Causes Itchy Redness And Drainage In My Forehead?

Hi Doc, I have still redness and drainage in my forehead, it so itchy when it is dry. My family doctor gave me an ointment Flammazine and antibiotic Cephalex for 1 week and end up 2 weeks ago but still the same. This was start last Dec 25, 2013, when I dried my hair with the hair dryer and my forehead was red and itchy so I applied Polysporin ointment because I thought it was burned. After I applied then start to have drainage and inflame. So, I consult to my family doctor until now I suffer from itchy, dry skin and redness with little drainage.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

Apply cortisone cream on the affected areas twice daily along with frequent and regular application of a moisturising cream on the entire face. Also, take antihistaminic like tablet cetrizine 10 mg once or twice daily depending on the intensity of itching.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Asmeet Kaur Sawhney, Dermatologist
