Went For Tan, Area Around Moles On Ribs And Back Have Not Tanned, Have White Ring Around Mole. Danger Sign?

Ive recently developed a light tan due to going on a sunbed for 3 minutes, twice last week (I was told the sunbed could clear up an eczema type rash I have and creams have not worked) . But the skin around 2 moles I have, one on my ribs and one in my back, hasnt tanned at all and its like I have a white ring around the mole. Is this dangerous? ?

Hello user,

The mole you are have is called a halo mole. For reasons which are unknown, the body selects a particular mole or moles for destruction. This is presumably because the mole is recognised as being abnormal in some way. It is considered an autoimmune process. (source:http://dermnetnz.org/lesions/halo-mole.html)

In most of the cases they are absolutely normal, but you have to watch these 5 signs, abbreviated as ABCDE, A for Asymmetry; B for Irregular Borders; C for Black or uneven Colors; D for diameter ; and E for a growth that is Evolving or changing.

hope my info helped you
