Weight Loss, Feeling Weak. Pacemaker Placed. Taking Medication For High Cholesterol. Side Effect Of Medicine?

Hi Doctor,

Last year 10 august my father got operated and doc placed pacemaker. he recovered from that but from last four months he is taking Rozavel-20 and Adilip-135 because of high cholesterol and from last 4 months we are observing that he lost 6 8 kg weight and feeling very weak. so is this possible that weight loss is side effect of these medicines?

Thanks,
Shalini

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Rozavel is the trade name for a medication called rosuvastatin which is used for high cholesterol. Like all medications it is associated with possible side effects but weight loss is not a known side effect.

Adilip is the trade name of a medication called fenofibrate. It is also not known to cause weight loss.

Unintentional weight loss can be associated with chronic illness or infection , tumors.
You may want to consider taking him to his doctor for investigation which would include blood tests and possibly imaging

I hope this helps
