Vomitting, Sore Throat. Feels Like Lump In Neck. Difficult To Swallow. Due To Vomitting?

Hi. I threw up after eating last night. I woke up with a terrible sore throat but not the back of my throat where my glands are but about the middle of my neck . It feels like there is a lump there and it is difficult and very painful to swallow . At first I thought it was just a sore throat but now I m thinking it is somehow related to the vomiting .

ENT Specialist 's  Response
hello and welcome to HCM,

You are right in assuming that the sore throat may be related to the vomiting. Since vomiting raises the pressure in the throat area there may be injury along the throat. Also the vomitus itself can cause injury to the throat.

In any case it is advisable to consult an ENT and maybe impress upon for an upper GI endoscopy which can diagnose any such lesion or injury

You may need to start an antibiotic medication along with anti reflux medication for proper treatment

avoid spicy and oily food

take care
