Hi there,

Thanks for writing in.

I would like to know how many times has your son vomited in the past two days?
Any fever/ stomach pain/ loose motion?
Kindly elaborate on___he is not brisk... do you mean he is lethargic, drowsy, not active?
Does he drink eagerly when you give him water to drink?

If you meant vomsafe, the medicine is normally for women who have vomiting in pregnancy . It is not indicated in a 1 yr old. Please do not administer medication without doctor's advise.

I would suggest you take him to the paediatrician, as the doctor will be able to better assess the child in terms of degree of dehydration etc.

In the meantime, give him rice gruel or porridge (kanji), ORS (oral rehydration solution) to correct his dehydration.

In future , please don't combine milk and acidic fruits like orange , lime etc. Reaction take place between the milk and the acid in orange.

I hope I have answered your question. Please do get back to me if you have further queries.

Hope your son feels better soon :)

Regards,
Dr. Divya Kuttikrishnan
