Vagina Enflamed, Swollen After Intercourse, Sore. Is There Any Medicine That Can Help?

Hi. I have had intercourse for the first time. My vagina is very enflamed and swollen. It was sore when I went to the bathroom yesterday but that stopped. It is hard to sleep at night. Is there anything I can do instead of getting tablets from my doctor? I don't want my mum to know because she will be mad that I have been sexually active. I'm sixteen. I hope you can help me. Thank you, Anna.

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
According to your description there is possibility of post coital tears leading to inflammatory reaction or there could be some infection.
So you can take sitz bath which can give some relief.
You can use on counter drugs like candid gel etc. and analgesic and anti-inflammatory oral tablets.
But if the symptoms persist even after using them, you have to consult gynecologist.

Take care.
